The Arthur Jackson Residential Adult Program
is an Adult Family Home Agency, a new and
innovative approach designed to provide
community opportunities for small numbers of
developmentally disabled consumers in
individual family homes. AJRAP’s primary
focus is to provide services to underserved
developmentally disabled consumers. AJRAP
works in conjunction with the Bay Area
Regional Centers to offer a full range of
community-based services for males and

PROGRAM RECRUITMENT
AJRAP recruits and trains
family home providers to support a
diverse population of
developmentally disabled consumers
are placed with compatible providers
and homes. AJRAP Case
Management services ensure effective
planning and progress along with
continuing family home provider
training. Consumers benefit
from the opportunity to grow and
develop as a part of a larger,
intact family and engage in
functional activities of family
life. Two consumers per
home/family help to ensure
particular attention in moving
beyond a range of challenging life
experiences that have resulted in
marginalization and neglect.
FAMILY LIFE
The primary goal is to provide
developmentally disabled consumers with
a long-term, stable environment and a
normal and respectful life, including
social, academic and work-related
experience. Services are comprehensive
and encompass personal, physical and
social growth aimed at an assisted to
independent community life. AJRAP has
built a network of community family
homes that offer consumers with
developmental disabilities a fair chance
and opportunity for successful and
satisfying lives.
